Purpose: To generate income in the added service segment, to increase the number of users within PLUS GSM network
Applied solution: SMS chat with the use of location
Description:
Digital Virgo S.A. developed for Plus network subscribers a branded Fun Skan service. Fun Skan service is a SMS Chat, where users locate persons from the neighbourhood to chat anonymously with.
  • By registering with Fun Skan the user consents to have his/her SIM card located and creates a personal profile (providing his/her nick, gender and age).
  • Users may scan their neighbourhood to seek potential interlocutors – for this purpose they send SMS commands: SKAN (scanning combined with a call start) or LIST (scanning a list of four users).
  • Scanning is based on location in order to the find an interlocutor in the immediate area.
  • After scanning is completed, users may follow a SMS chat and receive for this purpose a special chat channel (dedicated number). Talks with 9 persons at the same time can be held.
